If this blog turns out like the other blogs I have started in the past few years, I will post for a few days, and then totally abandon it. But we shall have fun in the meantime.
This morning I had an appointment at the car dealership for my vehicle. The check engine light has been on for a couple of weeks, and since I have to register it in a new state pretty soon, I decided I ought to take care of it while I had the spare time. Usually I would ignore something like this for months. And so 7:30AM found me at the dealership. When I called at 1:30PM to check on the car, they hadn't yet looked at it. So glad I dragged myself out of bed to get it there early. They soon, however, made up for it. Miraculously, it was covered under warranty. It was going to be a $300 repair. In my current state of non-paycheckness, this was MUCH appreciated.
The dealership is only about a mile from my parents' house, so I simply walked back home. Being up early and not having anything else to do, I decided to hop on my bike. I did one of my favorite routes, and arrived back home an hour later in an average state of sweatiness and smelliness. Well, during that hour the plumber had arrived to hook up the new bathroom fixtures (my parents are in the midst of a game of musical chairs with the bathrooms and closets on the first floor). He turned off the water. I couldn't shower for another 5 hours. YUCK!!
Obviously, the lack of water made it difficult to flush the one toilet that was still in commission. Five hours is a long time. When the plumber left for lunch, making it possible for me to get my dad's car out of the garage, I sped off to Panera to use their restroom. It had started to rain by this point, and my dad's sunroof was tilted open. I couldn't figure out how to close it. Next thing I new I was driving with the sunroof completely open. It wasn't raining hard enough for any drips to have gotten in the car when it was just tilted up. But completely open? Yeah, the leather was starting to get damp. I have no idea what I finally did to close it, but the car was dry by the time I got it back home.
T minus 10 days till I move!!!
